Jana Luisa Band heeft 4 jaar Muziektheater gestudeerd aan de Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg en besloot ook de Masteropleiding, Master of Music, te gaan volgen die ze vandaag afsloot in het Academietheater met haar voorstelling ‘Watch What Happens’.
Onder de regie van Ad Knippels en muzikale begeleiding van Michiel Ballhaus vertelde Jana het verhaal van een vrouw die alles opgeeft voor haar man. Eigenlijk wil ze journalist worden bij de New York Times, maar ze cijfert zich gedwongen weg voor haar man, Frank.
Als Frank op een dag niet thuiskomt en de politie voor de deur staat, blijkt dat hij in de gevangenis zit en meerdere misdaden heeft begaan. De vrouw blijft alleen achter totdat het moment komt dat hij haar zegt dat ze alles klaar moet maken en hij samen met haar wil vluchten naar Canada om daar een nieuw leven op te bouwen. Dat is voor haar het moment om voor zichzelf te kiezen en schrijfster te worden wat ze altijd al wilde.
Jana speelt met veel energie en is van alle markten thuis. Dans, zang en spel gaan haar prima af en ze vertelt het verhaal in het Duits en zingt sommige nummers in het Engels, maar alles is direct duidelijk. Jana sluit hiermee haar studie succesvol af aan de Fontys Hogeschool.

Jana Finalises her Master with ‘Watch what happens’
Jana Luisa band studied Music Theater for 4 years at the Fontys Hogeschool in Tilburg and also decided to follow the Master’s degree, Master of Music, which she completed today in the Academietheater with her performance ‘Watch What Happens’.
Directed by Ad Knipples and musically accompanied by Michiel Ballhaus, Jana told the story of a woman who has to give up everything for her husband. She actually wants to become a journalist for the New York Times, but she gives up het dream for her husband, Frank.
When he does not come home one day, it turns out that he is in prison and has committed several crimes. The woman is left alone until the moment comes when he tells her to get everything ready and he wants to flee with her to Canada to build a new life there. That’s the moment for her to choose for herself and become the writer she always wanted.
Jana plays with a lot of energy and seems at home in all musical disciplines. She dances, sings and plays perfectly, and she tells the story in German and sings some songs in English, but everything is immediately clear. Jana concludes her studies at the Fontys Hogeschool.
