Cameron Mackintosh, in samenwerking met Nick Grace Management, De Graaf & Cornelissen Entertainment, MOJO en Van Lambaart Entertainment, kondigt met grote trots de complete cast aan voor Boublil and Schönberg’s LES MISÉRABLES THE ARENA SPECTACULARl. De show is 14 tot en met 16 februari 2025 exclusief te zien in de Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. 

De hoofdcast bestaat uit Milan van Waardenburg als Jean Valjean, Bradley Jaden als Javert, Matt Lucas als Thénardier, Linzi Hateley als Madame Thénardier, Katie Hall als Fantine, Beatrice Penny-Touré als Cosette, Jac Yarrow als Marius, Aviva Tulley als Éponine, James D. Gish als Enjolras en Hans Peter Janssens als Bishop of Digne.

Het ensemble bestaat uit Jonathon Bentley, Rebecca Bolton, Olivia Brereton, Amelia Broadway, Michael Burgen, Mary-Jean Caldwell, Beth Curnock, Shaun Dalton, Jonathan David Dudley, Harry Dunnett, Louis Emmanuel, Charlie Geoghegan, Harry Grant Smith, Connor Jones, Daniel Koek, Caleb Lagayan, Abel Law, Adam Robert Lewis, Georgie Lovatt, Andrew Maxwell, Jill Nalder, Zabrina Norry, Lisa Peace, Kathy Peacock, Ciaran Rodger, Jo Stephenson, Geddy Stringer, Helen Walsh, Raymond Walsh en Owain Williams.

Daniel Adesina, Theo Hills, Felix Holt, Leo Humphreys en Dexter Pulling spelen afwisselend de rol van Gavroche en Dalia Al Nagar, Amanthi Crowe, Sophia Duffie, Maisie Mac Mahon en India Mills de rol van Kleine Cosette.

LES MISÉRABLES THE ARENA SPECTACULAR is een grotere versie van het enorm succesvolle Les Misérables The Staged Concert, dat meer dan 200 uitverkochte shows beleefde in het Londense West End. Deze nieuwe show is speciaal voor concertzalen en arena’s gemaakt. Er werken ruim 110 acteurs, muzikanten en crew aan deze show mee.

Nick Grace is een van ’s werelds toonaangevende producenten van grote arenashows waaronder BATMAN LIVE – World Arena Tour, WALKING WITH DINOSAURS – The Arena Spectacular, BLUE MAN GROUP World Tour, de aankomende MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL World Tour, en MAMMA MIA! UK & International Tour, die dit jaar onafgebroken 20 jaar op wereldtournee is.

Cameron Mackintosh’ veelgeprezen productie van Boublil en Schönbergs Les Misérables is nog altijd te zien (nu in het 40e jaar) in het Sondheim Theatre op het Londense West End, naast verschillende andere producties die momenteel over de hele wereld te zien zijn of in voorbereiding zijn. 

Cameron Mackintosh’s productie van LES MISÉRABLES THE ARENA SPECTACULAR is geschreven door Alain Boublil en Claude-Michel Schönberg en is gebaseerd op het boek van Victor Hugo. Muziek van Claude-Michel Schönberg, teksten door Herbert Kretzmer en oorspronkelijk Franse teksten door Alain Boublil en Jean-Marc Natel, aanvullend materiaal door James Fenton en bewerkt door Trevor Nunn en John Caird. Arrangementen door Stephen Metcalfe, Christopher Jahnke en Stephen Brooker, originele arrangementen van John Cameron. De productie is geregiseerd door James Powell en Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy, decorontwerp Matt Kinley, kostuums Andreane Neofitou, Christine Rowland en Paul Wills, lichtontwerp Paule Constable en Warren Letton, geluidsontwerp Mick Potter, projecties Finn Ross en muzikale supervisie Stephen Brooker en Alfonso Casado Trigo. Het Les Misérables orkest wordt gedirigeerd door Brian Eads.

BIOGRAPHIES

Milan van Waardenburg previously led the award-winning Netherlands and Belgium production of Les Misérables as Jean Valjean, receiving critical acclaim and a nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical in the 2022 Dutch Musical Awards. He reprised the role at the Gielgud Theatre making his West End debut. Milan’s previous theatre credits include the role of Prince Hans in Disney’s Frozen in Germany, Dimitri in Anastasia both in Germany and The Netherlands, Lieutenant Frederic Charles and Quasimodo in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Herbert in Tanz der Vampire, both on tour across Germany.

Bradley Jaden recently received rave reviews for his performance in Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends at the Gielgud Theatre. He also appeared as Raoul in Broadway Italia’s brand new production of The Phantom of the Opera in Trieste and most notably as Javert in Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre, a role he also played in the final cast of the musical at the Queen’s Theatre. Prior to that he starred as Enjolras in the concert staging of the production at the Gielgud Theatre. His other West End credits include appearing in the Gala cast of Old Friends at the Sondheim Theatre, Fiyero in Wicked at the Victoria Apollo Theatre, Thomas Percy in Treason: The Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Sir Lancelot in Camelot in Concert at the London Palladium, the UK tour of Ghost The Musical and Shrek The Musical at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.  His TV credits include Emmerdale on ITV, Sugar Rush on Channel 4, and most recently EastEnders on BBC One.

Matt Lucas is best known for his appearances in films and major television series, including Little Britain, Matt is also a much-loved best-selling author, comedian, presenter, and comedy writer as well as one of the most recognisable personalities in Britian. He previously appeared as Thénardier in the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2 and later in the production at the Gielgud, before starring in the West End stage production.

Linzi Hateley is an award-winning actress who has starred on Broadway, in the West End, with the RSC and at the National Theatre. She has created many roles including Mrs Banks in Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, the title role in Carrie the musical and was nominated for an Olivier Award for her performance as The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her many other West End credits include Donna in Mamma Mia!, Roxie’ in “Chicago, Rizzo in Grease and Eponine and Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables. She has also appeared in the National Theatre’s smash hit production of London Road and most recently The Little Big Things @sohoplace.

Katie Hall returns to the role of Fantine having starred in the West End and UK and Ireland tour of Les Misérables. Her numerous theatre credits include the roles of Cosette on tour, at the Queen’s Theatre, and in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables at the O2 Arena, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End and on tour, Johanna in Sweeney Todd at the London Coliseum and Maria in the national tour of West Side Story.

Beatrice Penny-Touré recently appeared as Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon in the West End. Her other West End credits include covering and playing the role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera and the title role in Mary Poppins, as well as Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends.

Jac Yarrow made his professional and West End debut as the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, for which he was nominated for the 2020 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Actor in a Musical and won The Stage Debut Award for Best West End Debut. He reprised the role of Joseph for the UK and Ireland Tour of the show and a run at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre and was most recently seen in Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends.

Aviva Tulley’s theatre credits include the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the Gillian Lynne Theatre and on UK tour, Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre and on UK tour, and Erzulie in Once On This Island at the Southwark Playhouse.

James D. Gish is making his European debut. His credits on Broadway include Fiyero in Wicked and Fabrizio in The Light in the Piazza for New York City Center Encores. His US touring credits include Gerry Goffin in Beautiful and Feuilly in Les Misérables.

Hans Peter Janssens previously played the roles of Jean Valjean in Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre, and Javert at the Queens Theatre in London’s West End. His other international theatre credits include the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, Anatoly in Chess, Jekyll and Hyde in Jekyll & Hyde, Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd, Count von Krolock in Dance of the Vampires, Dracula in Dracula the musical, Kerchak in Tarzan, Juan Peron in Evita, Triton in The little Mermaid, and Benjamin Stone in Follies.
